here's a very overdue post!

i started school on monday.. unlike going for camp, i didn't feel any apprehension or anything. maybe cause i met up with friends before going to class together. hahah.

mass comm.

it is competitive, and i'm sure i have some, if not a lot of hard times ahead. but i know it will be fun. hmm.

on monday, we were introduced to 4 modules. media in society, location video, graphic communications and marketing communications.

media in society(medisoc), its pretty much an introduction to mass comm. the different modes of communications and how you need to interpret what someone is trying to say in the different forms of information transfer. the teacher's an indian lady. VERY ALIKE TO SOMEONE WHO TAUGHT ME IN SAS. OR RATHER. DIDN'T TEACH. yes. i cannot flame. lol. 'blogging is a mode of communication to the masses, the internet being the easiest tool to use.' OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

well, location video.. today, tuesday, we had a proper introduction to location video production. its no joke.. too many technical terms. i just know that i won't look at any video or movie in the same way again.

graphic communicaions. yes, it is what it says. communicating through pictures. making your pictures mean something. its a bit like advertising? yeah. a bit like social studies source A. hahah.

marketing communications! the lecturer is cool. very mind probing module. well its actually principles of marketing. how you communicate with people to sell products. like. how you would want to buy adidas, as compared to bata, because its ADIDAS. and although bata is more durable or whatever. yes. the idea behind branding. quite a lot of psychology stuff. i think.

that's pretty much about it! oh yea. my class consists of 20 people, of which 14 are girls. yup. okay guys i'll stop rubbing it in. =p

i've got creative thinking and sports and wellness tomorrow. they're my submodules. gotta go!

woo hoo! long post long post ahead!

i was away for 4 days, at freshman orientation camp! met MANY fantastic people, each different in their own ways.

before i begin, I LOVE OANNES & OANNES 2!

day 1

mom dropped me off in the morning in NP, saw many many many freshies trooping together to camp. sat down at the waiting area. while waiting, all the SA guys appeared, so we just stuck together. caught up with some of them. after waiting for like. almost an hour, we were led off to book in and be split into our 4 OGs, naga, oannes, promethus and titans. i was put into oannes. within each OG are 3 sub-groups, of about 40 each. so go on and do your maths. the camp had like. almost 500 people lah. i was thinking like, wah what shit have i landed myself into? we put our stuff into the badminton hall, where we were to sleep for the next few days. it was damn hot, damn sian. had no one to talk to. then the GLs (group leaders) started doing cheers. practically no one participated. had lunch, a very sian one.

after lunch, we were split into minigroups for icebreaker games. i guess that's when the fun buildup really started. played the usual games, whacko, etc. yeah. then we learnt some cheers. they're all based on your popular rnb songs, except the lyrics are changed.

THEN. dinner. suddenly all the GLs and camp committee go siao. start scolding, say cannot talk, something bad happen. sia we all scared. then they bring us go lecture theatre watch horror movies. some even more scared. LOL. build-up tension mah. then got NIGHT WALK.

night walk was pretty funny. gotta give it to the camp crew for doing so much work. it was really good. some parts freaky. hahah. they had people dressed up as ghosts and stuff. walk halfway you hear girls from other groups scream. damn funny.

our day ended at 3am that day. madness. i went high at the waiting area. hahah.

day 2

day 2. wake up DAAAAMN stone. late breakfast, late lunch. oannes 2 got more bonded on day 2, cos we had station games. and they require teamwork. yeah. i loved butter hill. its a station where you gotta climb up a piece of tarpaulin COVERED IN FLOUR AND BUTTER. anyway, it forced everyone to trust each other and work as a team and stuff. then there was that water slide thingy. was pretty dangerous but fun too. heheh. well besides that the games were about teamwork, i guess. fun day. more cheering and stuff.

day 3

DAY 3 SIBEH FUN. wake up, breakfast. then first thing is PIA ZUEY. (whack water, literally) its a game where the 4 OGs must attack each other with water guns and bombs. oannes damn power. form squad and march in. but there were a lot of injuries. i heard someone's earring got ripped off her ear or something.

they stopped the game abruptly to scold us. its apparently a tradition. heh. then they psycho say sorry all that later on. but it was fun!

after lunch, it was water games! oannes won the water captains' ball thing. we rock! then there was a dressup according to our group... uh. legends? like naga is a mermaid thingy, oannes is a pretty woman thingy, promethus is.. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE. and titans. are titans! anyway. check out our mascot. =D

fifi, you go GIRLLLL! WAHHAA.

well! i guess that's really almost all. um. in the night was. our indoor campfire! nothing much, just cheering and singing. then after everything was this. clubbing thing. didn't like it so i went out and talked to the sas peeps. SA UNITE! hahah. then they announce no lights out, no rules. HAHA. damn fun. that night. power pack lah. sit there talk cock. watch people who fell asleep kena sabo. damn cham one. wake up find their hands in their pants with colgate all over. titans better still. shave legs in patches. kee siao. hahahah. i didn't get pics to show it though! need to form a habit of taking more pics. =p

i didn't sleep that night. was pretty dead the next day, which was bookout day. there's a bookout day cheer too. hehe.

well. that's camp in short. oannes super bonded. someone started leaking tears at the end, then.. my heart just twist, then. yah. lol.

anyway. i really wish i could list all the names of the people whom have found new places in my heart. but there's just really too many.

yesterday was saturday. and i went funan to do SHOPPING. yes.

i bought a new mouse.

yes it really DOES light up. heh.
its really smooth. smooth like. like a baby's ass? fucking smooth lah.

i also bought uh. wc battlechest for my mac. lol.

and GeForce 6600 for my pc.

AND an ethernet pci card for direct wired connection to my router.

time to pwn nubs.

hellooo.

this is my first post on my new lappy. its an ibook.

its 12".

pretty cool. i think everyone else bought a bigger lappy but i suppose they'll suffer when school starts. no joke carrying up a gigantic laptop up a hill lol. well nothing much is up.

i'm okay now, my flu's gone. left with the occasional cough. i've got camp awaiting me on monday. hmm. new friends, heh.

i'm off to bed i guess.

funan, shopping tmr, then gym in the night.

i need to exercise lol.

ok so like. i overdosed on my medicine that day. then like. next day i had seizures. got sent to hospital, where they shoved a pipe thingy down my throat and pumped my stomach. fuck. its like. not a very nice experience.

okay so like. happy april fools' day to those who believed the above.

nah. in 2 weeks i visited the doc 3 times. went again just now. so here's like the dialogue.

'eh you again!'
'yah me'
'wah lau your voice'
'wah eh i suffering leh. 3 days sleep 3-4 hours each day'
'you know i gave you my strongest cough medicine?!'
'aiyah nv work leh'
'yeah i can tell!'

at this point my doc takes a torch and magnifying glass and looks down my throat.

'wah lau jialat jialat jialat jialat jialat'
'yah i think so too'
'your throat is full of ulcers'
'huh really?'
'ok this is the last straw.'

doctor reaches down below his table and takes out this special antibiotic.

'this is like my 2nd grade neutron bomb'
'uhhh okkkaay.'

that's about it. he said i can't go for my sports camp. DAMN it lah. %&#%&#

at least i stopped coughing blood.
